As Athena Specialist, you’ll join a dynamic, mission-driven team that is passionate about creating pathways for women to thrive in STEM.


Through Athena's high-impact leadership programs, certification courses, and networking events, we foster mentorship, professional development, and leadership opportunities. Athena’s initiatives include signature programs like Athena's Lifting While Climbing Summit, a powerful platform designed to propel women into leadership roles while supporting the next generation of innovators.


What You'll Do:

  • Program & Event Support: Prepare agendas, manage committee meetings, track action items, and provide logistics support for Athena’s wide range of leadership programs and certification courses.

  • Membership & Data Management: Oversee member databases and ensure Basecamp committee and cohort pages are up-to-date, fostering a collaborative and engaged community.

  • Event Logistics: Coordinate both in-person and virtual program details, including AV setups, name tags, Zoom troubleshooting, and communication with guests and sponsors.

  • Creative Content: Design program pages on Wix, create eye-catching graphics in Canva, and support marketing efforts to keep Athena’s community educated, connected and empowered. 

  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with Director of Strategic Partnerships & Programs, as well as sponsors, speakers, and CEO, to achieve seamless programming objectives.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Enthusiasm for making an impact through event coordination and program management.

  • Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a knack for multitasking in fast-paced environments.

  • Proficiency with tools like Canva, Wix, HubSpot, Constant Contact, Google Drive, Zoom, Teams, and Basecamp is a plus.


Position Details:

  • Part-time: 10-20 hours per week, with possibility of full-time position within 3 months.

  • San Diego-based role, with in-person programs that run no longer than 8 PM on weekdays, 2x monthly.
